Irwan Shah sms me with the information that Krishnamurthy former SM Gurun had passed away. Information was from The Star today.
Knew him whilst serving in the East Coast in 60s when he was SM Bukit Abu together with Ivan Pereira and subsequently when I was DTC Butterworth.
He was famous for winning Best Station Award practically every year whilst serving as SM Gurun. You could read them in Majalah Keretapi (if you can still find them).
Gurun station would be gloriously decorated with various species of flowers and this would be all on his own cost. The only thing supplied by MR/KTM was the chalk to white-wash the platform edge.
To Murthy we say Rest In Peace and to his family we offer our deepest condolence.
